We spent Sat and Sun watching General Conference on  TV.  It is broadcast at the stake centers here in the Washington DC area.  Our missionaries go to the church houses to watch it and try to take investigators and new converts with them.  On Saturday morning before conference began there were a number of baptisms held.  President Albright attended the baptism of Bro. Victor Harding.  This gentleman is from Liberia, Africa where he was a preacher for a large group of 14 church congregations.  His church brought him to America and he was a minister here also.  Elder Withers and Elder Baldwin tracted into him about 2 months ago.  He immediately accepted an invitation to be taught and was touched by the spirit the minute he heard about the restoration.  He continued with the lessons and accepted baptism.  He said he had to go to his congregation and tell them he was not coming there anymore and that he had found the true church.  And he did just that.  They members of his church and the other preachers were very upset and tried to convince him otherwise.  But he is firm in his testimony and on Oct. 3,2009  he was baptized.  He was so overwhelmed that he cried during much of the meeting.   Elder Withers performed the baptism and Elder Baldwin gave a talk on the Holy Ghost.  There was also a talk by Bro Perry and Pres. Oryang, who is from Uganda and in the stake presidency of the Woodbridge Stake) also spoke.  The closing prayer was given by Elder Ozaki.
Early Sunday morning Pres. Albright had Presidency Mtg. with Pres. Burton and Ward.  He loves both of those men.  They are stalwarts. Then between conference sessions we had Elders Lieppman, Johnson, Brunstad, and Forsberg over for dinner.  It is fun to have different missionaries over and get to know them.  Elder Lieppman and Johnson are the Zone Leaders in  our area and do a great job.  Elder Brunstad is the District leader and also does great.  The four of them live together.
