BAPTISM SATURDAY 10-24-09

We were delighted to attend the baptisms of 4 people this Saturday.
This baptism was for a young girl named Leona Riddle-Koroma, and Alice Sesay and her son Paul.
I had the opportunity to go with Sisters Jordan and Glauser when they taught Leona one of her lessons. She is a delightful and sweet young woman. Her mother, Ade, was out jogging about 2 years ago and an Elder started jogging along side her. He jogged with her for about a mile telling her about the Gospel. She finally told him that if he would leave her alone she would let them come and teach her. Well she joined the church about 20 months ago. Her 2 teenage daughters have now been taking the lessons and decided on their own to join the church. Leona attends young womans as you can see from the pictures. All the young woman attended the baptism. Her sister, Fannie, is planning her baptism in a couple of weeks. When the Sisters were teaching Leona it was obvious that they loved her and she loved them. They laughed and played and even "danced " with her.
At the baptism Sister Bertucci was the chorister, Sisters Glauser and Jordan gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Elders Lewis and and Elton were the witnesses, and the musical number was performed by Elders Gannaway, Gifford, Withers, Lewis, and Elton.
