OUR MULTICULTURAL WEEKEND

It began with A Mongolian New Year Celebration at the Arlington 2 Ward. Sister Murray and Battulga serve in this ward. Sis. Battulga is from Mongolia and she was so excited. This was a celebration of their new year which is a hugh holiday in Mongolia. This ward has a large group of about 50 Mongolian members. They had decorated the gym with beautiful pictures of the country and had a wonderful authentic meal. Their were so many amazing costumes. I couldn't get pictures of them because it was too dark. But they were remarkable, with large head dresses and embroidered materials. They had a program with all Mongolian performances and music. Dancers, songs, a really amazing THROAT singer ( so high and low I thought it was some instrument), and our own Elder Tamir (also from Mongolia) played the HORSE FIDDLE.

Elder Tamir with Elders Hill and Khishig-Erdene. Elder Tamir is so dedicated to his mission. He sold his own Horse Fiddle to pay for his mission. So hearing him play one was a real treat.
