Trip to McLean 8-1-09

We drove to McLean this morning to attend a baptism, but sadly the wrong chapel was listed on our printout.  But we did get to visit this beautiful, old chapel there.  The front doors were of old dark wood and looked so elegant.  The chapel inside was lovely with old pews and a beautiful interior.  We passed the Masonic Temple which is very old and stately and can be seen for a long ways And then we drove past Tysons Corner which we had heard so much about that we went and checked it out.  It is a large mall and shopping district.  It was fun to drive around a little this morning before our first visiting authority arrived.  Elder Piper of the Quorum of the Seventy is coming to visit with us today and stay with us tonight.

Mark & I are from Las Vegas, Nevada where we have lived most of our lives. We have five children, all married, and10 grandchildren and 3 more on the way. They are the joy of our lives. We are so excited to be here serving in the Washington DC South Mission. We are proud to serve with the young men and women who are here serving the Lord and spreading His gospel. We look forward to meeting each one of them and getting to know and love them. Over the next three years we will be sharing pictures, stories, and highlights of the mission on this blog, and will keep a mission history that we invite you to view and enjoy as a constant update of what is happening in the best mission in the world!
