MISSION HOME FIRESIDE-DONALD CHAPPEL

On February 28th we had another wonderful fireside. Our special guest speaker was Donald Chappel. He was raised in the south and taught to not like Mormons and be suspicious of them. When he moved here, he became interested in learning about Mormons because it was like the "forbidden fruit" as he called it. As he learned more, he found that everything he was taught answered the questions he had always had and the spirit let him know it was all true.
He works for the Department of Patents. A really great young man.
Pres. Donald Chappel, and Elder Karren
President Burton also spoke and as usual was very dynamic. He is so fun to be around. All the missionaries love Pres. Burton.

MUSIC BRINGS THE SPIRIT

On Saturday evening, we went to a Musical fireside Elder Wilkey, Sackett, and Bates had put together.
They had a lot of active young members of the ward invite nonmember friends and get together for a night of music.. It was a lot of fun. Elder Wilkey and Sackett sang a number of spiritual songs and invited the youth to feel the spirit from the music. They had different youth perform numbers they had prepared. And it was part of our multicultural weekend because two of the friends were from India and brought some Indian instruments and played some very authentic Indian sounding songs. It was a great turnout. A young sister that is being baptized this Saturday was there and also sang.
Elder Wilkey sang "Joseph Smith's First Prayer"
Elder Sackett wrote some original songs about feeling the spirit and asking soul searching questions.
