Smithsonian Museum of Fine Art

On Sat, March 13, we took the opportunity to visit the Museum of Fine Arts for just a couple of hours. I could spend weeks exploring this museum. I love museums. The people here and especially children are so blessed. All 17 Smithsonian museums are free to the public. The children who live here are exposed to so much wonderful information and exhibits. There are thousands of works are art housed here. There are galleries from as early as the 1200's up until modern works of art. My favorite is impressionistic. There was a wonderful impressionistic display. The Museum of Fine Arts

One of the long hallways. Each hallway has multiple doors leading displays from each time period.
This is an original Degas painting. Beautiful

A Pablo Picasso

A Vincent VanGogh

From the Byzantine Era when most work was religious in nature.
A large (life size) bronze tribute to the first all black unit that served in the Civil War
A Leonardo DiVinci. (looks a lot like the Mona Lisa, this one is of the daughter of a man who hired DiVinci)
