Our Assistants are incredible. They are the hardest working elders. I don't think the others have any idea the amount of responsibility on their shoulders. They not only keep us on schedule by planning and organizing zone conferences, interviews, etc. They keep reports, write newsletters, all the agendas, etc. They have a list of things to do each transfer cycle that is 4 pages (8x11) single spaced that has to be checked off and done again. We couldn't do it without them. All of our assistants have been devoted and hard working. They often get by on 5 hours of sleep. And they seldom take a P-day, if ever. So on a P-day we took them to see Arlington Cemetary. It is a spiritual and beautiful place. There are still about 25 funerals held each day there. The changing of the guard is inspiring.
The Arlington House at the Cemetary, it was the home of Robert E. Lee.
