One of the bishop's in our mission; Bishop Stone, of the McLean 2nd Ward travels a lot for work. He always carries Pass-a-long cards with him and tries to give them to everyone. He makes it a goal to always give one to the taxi drivers since they are a "captive audience". While in New York a few months ago, he attempted to talk to a taxi driver about the gospel. He indicated he wasn't interested. Bishop Stone asked if he could give him a pass a long card and the driver said "no, he wasn't interested". Bishop Stone asked a couple more times and when he exited the car, said he would just leave it on the seat for him. A couple of months later he received a phone call from this gentleman in New York who had tracted him down. He had looked at the card, called the number on it and received the lessons. He was calling to ask Bishop Stone to come to New York and baptize him. We were told this story by a ward member when the bishop was out of town to perform the baptism.
What an incredible member missionary. Wouldn't it be amazing if every member had the same zeal as he does?
that is AMAZING! i need to be so much better. we are still trying to find someone for our challenge. what about that family across the street? the grandma talked to me at church about it...
