Mount Vernon- Belle Haven Ward

President Albright likes to spend Sundays visiting different wards so that he can meet lots of the members,  see the missionaries, and attend the Gospel Essential Classes.  And as a result I get to meet lots of the wonderful members in this mission.
We attended the Belle Haven ward on Fast Sunday.  It is held in the most beautiful location.  It is just a block down the road from Mount Vernon, Home of George Washington.  It sits on a hill overlooking the Potomac River.  They had to have special architecture to get it approved and it is very majestic looking with large white columns on the front of the building.
The ward was wonderful and comfortable.  The great thing about our church is that you feel that way where ever you attend church.  The Gospel is the same and you feel at home.  During the testimony meeting, 2 recent converts bore their testimonies.
One gentleman, said that as he came out of his apartment one evening, he saw the Sister missionaries in the parking lot. He had the impression that he should talk to them and ask them about their church and beliefs.  He said he does not make it a habit to approach strange young ladies in the dark, but felt compelled to do so.  He asked them about their beliefs and if he could go to church with them.  He attended the following week, took the lessons and joined last year sometime.  He had a strong testimony and it was wonderful to hear someone who has become an active part of  the church.  Another gentleman, from Ghana, bore his testimony and said he had joined 6 weeks ago.  He said he was riding on the city bus and saw two of our Elders across from him,  Elders Page and Carter.  He also felt impressed to ask them about their beliefs.  He sat next to Elder Page and inquired about the gospel.  They set up an appointment and he now has family and friends investigating.
When we attended the Gospel Essentials Class there were about 8 investigators.  It was a wonderful class and so exciting to see a class FILLED with investigators.
