THE COST OF RESCUE-Fred & Wood Zones

Our 2nd zone conference was held at the Woodbridge Stake Center. The Fredericksburg Zone also attended. The Zone leaders in these zones are Elders Johnson and Williams in Fred. and Elders Baldwin and Lee in Woodbridge. Both zones are excellent.
The theme of THE COST OF RESCUE was lots of fun and I think the Elders especially enjoyed seeing the pictures of all the military equipment used to rescue Scott O'Grady and hearing how incredibly expensive it was. Hundreds of Millions were spent to rescue one soldier. We have a sister who is from the Airforce Academy, Sister Nichols, who could tell us first hand about alot of the pictures. We saw unbelievable technical aircraft and ships and guns, and man power used to rescue our one soldier. But our equipment of testimony, faith, repentance and the spirit are far more powerful and unlimited in supply to help rescue every lost soul.
I talked about rescuing Families and how a tool like Family Home Evening is so valuable. We were fortunate to have one of our wards put together 150 FHE packets with 5 completed lessons for each of missionaries to use for teaching about FHE and how it can rescue a family with unity and love.
Elder Cordner is always entertaining with his car reports and awards. The church makes really funny and motivational movie clips about car safety that we show at the conferences. They are so well done and just get the missionaries laughing.
Elders Wilkey and Buie performed a musical number that was great. They both have really nice voices.
Our departing testimonies from Johnson and Ross were again really special. I love this part of the day when you hear a testimony from a missionary about to go home. They are often emotional and express the great changes that have come into their lives and hearts on their missions.
Pres. Albright sends out 2 topics for all the missionaries to come prepared to speak on for about 5 minutes. He called on Elder Knowles and Sis. Johnson and La Rochelle and they all did excellent jobs.
