The Mt. Vernon Zone leaders, Elder Nickle an Elder Hardy approached Pres. and I and asked if it would be OK if they rewarded their zone with a P-day activity at the mission home if they averaged Apostalic Standards two weeks in a row. We said we would love to. Thinking it might take a while, they surprised us. They worked really hard and two weeks later here they are on August 12, 2209 having a P-day barbecue and fun at the mission home. Way to go Mt. Vernon.
This zone includes Elders Lassen, Hill, Lutz, McGill, Newton, Brogan Shapiro, Page,Yazzie, Schaelling,Sackett, Ockler,Stockton, Lee, Larsen, Willaims, Nickle, and Hardy; and Sisters Arnett,Larsen, Lau, and Murray. Visiting today also and showing in the pictures are Sisters Jordan and Banks. This is an outstanding zone. They work very hard and we are super proud of them.
I thought they deserved a great meal and fun since they worked hard and so we had quite a spread. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, pasta salad, fresh fruits, homemade cookies, and homemade brownies, root-beer floats and drinks. We set up a volleyball net in the back. At 90% humidity it was too hot for me outside. But I watched from the window. They also practiced roping for the upcoming rodeo. Elder Nickle presented a tie to Pres. Albright as gift from the zone. Elder Nickle always has great ties. We had a great time and enjoyed just visiting and having some down time to laugh and relax. What great young adults. I just love them all.
I feel like I've stepped back in time. I still remember that house even after 12+ years. I love hearing all your experiences and keep sharing pictures.
