Our sweet Sister Munkhnaran left on August 6, 2009 after serving for 19 1/2 months. She was a wonderful missionary. Our mongolian program is so sad to see her go. We will not have another missionary from Mongolia arrive until October. The visas are taking much longer to get now. She is really the heart of our group of about 40 Mongolian members. Pres. and I were so happy to get to know her before she left.
On Thursday, the 5th, she and her companion, Sister Bay and 2 other sisters in their district, Sisters Glauser and Sister Hahn came to the mission home in the late afternoon. The assistants and office Elders: Gannaway, Gifford, Robbins and Brunstad, Pres. Albright and I along with the sisters had a farewell dinner for Sis. Munkhnaran. I set the table in all the finest for her farewell and it was a wonderful time. After dinner Elder Brunstad jumped up and did the dishes with a little help from some others. He is the most helpful young man always quick to serve and smiling all the time. All the missionaries love to be around him because he spreads happiness where ever he goes. He is a real joy to have around the mission home. After dinner the 4 Elders left for evening missionary work.
Pres. and I enjoyed the sisters company for the remainder of the evening and it was fun to hear them laugh and relax together. It was especially fun for Sis Munkhnaran before her departure. She hopes to return to BYU Hawaii. But we may never see her again, and that is a sad thought. The girls talked most of the night (I think). And the next morning the 3 other sisters went to work while Pres and I took Sis. Munkhnaran to the airport. What a incredible missionary she was, spreading the gospel among the Mongolians here in the DC area. We will miss her.
Sister Albright...I am Sister Hahn's Mom...She loves you and the President so very much, thank-you for loving my daughter! She is a very strong and amazing young women- we are so proud of her! Thanks for all that you are doing in DC South!!! What a GREAT mission! I love that Niccol is going to look back on her mission with such love and tenderness, as I do about England 25 years ago where I served the Lord! Give her a HUGE Mom hug from me next time you see her!!! with love, Laurie Hahn
